Here’s a great preview for the Jackson Mountain Festival coming this weekend to Teton Village. Along with live music, the Pole Pedal Paddle, and Gaper Fool’s Day celebrations, the Mountain Festival also includes a tribute to ski mountaineering legend Doug Coombs. The 3rd annual Coombs Classic celebrates the life of Doug, who pushed the boundaries of skiing and changed the sport forever.

As the winter starts to wind down in Jackson Hole, season end celebrations come to life. The 7th Annual Mountian Festival kicks off Saturday in Teton Village and is sure to be a weekend packed full of competition, live music and spring skiing fun. Junior Freeskiing Competition at Grand Targhee
Last weekend, some of the best 12-18 year old freeskiers in the country dropped in on Peaked Mountain at Grand Targhee for the Junior Freeskiing World Tour. From the looks of this video, these guys and gals are ready to compete with the big boys, and I am sure we will be seeing their names pop up in the Freeskiing and Freeride World Tours soon enough.

First Time on a First Tram
I get Hanna’s text last night at 10pm – “first tram tomorrow?” I’ve never been a first-tram type of girl, but as I thought about other Jackson traditions I’d already crossed off my list – D.O.G.burritos, weekly trips to the post office to pick up my mail (no home delivery out here), Moose hockey games, wearing a beanie at all times, making out with a really hot snowboard instructor – I figured catching “first box” was one I couldn’t leave Jackson without.
