Whether you immediately recognize his name, or just know you’ve “heard it somewhere” you can most likely recall the name Ira Glass. The legendary host and producer of the show This American Life will be making and appearance at Center for the Arts for one night only this Saturday. As one of the first main events of 2014, you won’t want to miss An Evening with Ira Glass, as he will be speaking about how he puts together his infamous NPR radio show. Glass is going to profile the essence of all that makes up a successful program, and how he is pushing broadcast journalism to do things it never has before.

This American Life is unique because it’s one of the few shows appealing to a wide range of listeners. Glass’s essays have been read by David Sedaris, and he has appeared as a featured guest on The Colbert Report and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. He has been involved with several other NPR shows, such as Talk of the Nation, Morning Edition, and All Things Considered. No matter what walk of life you come from, you are sure to enjoy Ira Glass and his tales from past shows, and what has been behind his creative productions.
