Over the July 4th Holiday, It’s all about the Pathways.

Visitors in town for the Independence Day holiday should take time to explore the incredible pathway network in Jackson Hole. The Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation Department, combined with efforts of Friends of the Pathways have developed one of the regions safest pathways network, providing alternative options for transportation that are both well maintained and incredibly scenic. Recently, the pathways in Jackson were recognized on a national level. As reported by the Friends of Pathways, the League of American Bicyclists announced the latest round of Bicycle Friendly Communities (BFC) and Jackson/Teton County was named a Gold BFC, one of only 16 cities across the country to earn Gold designation.

Hoback Sports rents all types of bikes to enjoy the pathways in the region. From family cruisers to carbon fiber race bikes, visit their store in the Town of Jackson for the best selection of gear to meet your biking needs.

The paved trail network weaves throughout the Town of Jackson, connecting the community to the National Park on the new North 89 Pathway. Other pathways include rides south of town through South Park, along the Teton Village Road from Wilson to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, and various other rides. The Russ Garaman Pathway is a popular ride along Flat Creek in the Town of Jackson that is suitable for families and valued for its safe proximity from any roads. Riders looking to challenge themselves should avoid the Old Pass Road this week. Maintenance is scheduled to begin July 2nd, and is expected to take several days to complete.

For an in depth guide cycling options, visit Trail Maps+ , our interactive Google Earth Guide to pathways in the region.
