Details about the Summer Games
On Saturday, July 7, Snow King Mountain in Jackson, WY, will become the focal point of The Outerlocal Summer Games, an adventure festival for mountain athletes. Participants can compete in in one, two, three or all four events, as an individual or as part of a team. Registration costs are $25 for individuals, $50 for teams.
Located at Snow King Resort, the event will also include product demos from companies such as Outdoor Research, Salewa, Scarpa, Zeal Optics, Five Ten, La Sportiva, Marmot, Mountain Hardwear, Ibis, Canondale, Niner, Ellsworth and Salomon all day long.
Schedule of Events
- 7-10 a.m.: Expo Promenade
- 9 a.m.: Event check-in: Phil Baux Park
- 9:30 a.m.: Teton Boulder Park Deidication
- 10:00 a.m.: Mountain biking start
- 12:00 p.m.: Bouldering start: Teton Boulder Park.
- 2:00 p.m.: Running start: Start/Finish line
- 4:00 p.m.: Paragliding start: Start/Finish line
- 4:30-9 p.m.: Concerts, Awards, Festivities and more
The Mountain Pulse is really excited to be apart of the Outerlocal Summer Games. We are a co-sponsor of the event and huge supporter of their initiative to start an adventure sports race for mountain athletes in Jackson Wyoming. See you at Snow King Resort on July 7th!
Climbing
- Bouldering competition in the Teton Boulder Park with three categories featuring problems ranging from V0 to V14. 12pm start time.
Running
- The trail running leg climbs to the summit of Snow King, gaining nearly 1600 vertical feet in elevation. Three race categories. 2pm start time.
Mountain Biking
- The mountain bike leg is at Snow King Resort on a spectator friendly course that gains 1,000 vertical feet in elevation. Three race categories. 10am start time.
Paragliding
- Some of the best pilots in the region will climb Snow King and compete in a race over the town of Jackson to East Gros Ventre Butte. 4pm start time.
Jackson Hole Live Welcomes Boom Chick to the Summer Games
Boom Chick is a big hit of surf-garage momentum and rock & roll from Brooklyn, NY. Boom Chick consists of Frank Hoier on guitar & vocals and Moselle Spiller on drums. Formed in September 2009, their sound is a reflection of their ecstatic love for early American rock & roll, surf guitar and country blues.
