Jackson Hole Biking Report

Presented by Hoback Sports

Conditions Summary

A week of dry, sunny weather has made for perfect riding conditions. Matt Haviland, technician at Hoback Sports commented the dirt in the Snow King area is riding like “black gold” – dark with a touch of tan on top that hasn’t gotten dusty, and allows riders to charge the trails confidently. Hoback Sports has spoken with teams at Bridger Teton National Forest who confirmed the entire Cache Creek trail network is 100% clear of down trees. Blacks Canyon on Teton Pass has been 100% cleared as well as areas on Munger Mountain.

Candyland

Crews have been working hard to finish construction of the new Candyland Trail on Teton Pass in Bridger Teton National Forest. The new ride features large, well built jumps designed by the Teton Freedom Riders. Candyland caters to intermediate and advanced bikers offering the option to attempt large jumps, or bypass the features to enjoy fairly low commitment riding.

There are still some adjustments being made since the trail is brand new and needs to be ridden consistently to buff out the line. This downhill trail demands respect as well as the proper equipment and full set of safety gear. Looking for the right bike? Get into Hoback Sports to check out their latest selection of downhill rides from Specialized.

Candyland can be accessed by riding “Jimmy’s Mom” or Phillips Connector to the trail junction. Phillips Ridge parking area is the best starting point for the ride.
