Hundred Days 047

The Gameplan

As I lay in bed trying to fall asleep the other night, I was going over my gameplan for the following powder day at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. My gear was packed up tight, my snowboard of choice was freshly tuned and I was ready to get up early and get to the Village.

01/31/12 – We carefully worked our way down the ridge, avoiding the steep avalanche prone terrain on Teton Pass. Stephen Williams cruises through some soft turns. Check in with the Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center for daily avalanche advisories.

Stop #3: Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole welcomes the 2012 Gatorade Free Flow Tour this weekend. Competitors are in for soft landings, assuming can make it through the blizzard to Teton Village.

01/11/12 – We’ve spent the last couple of weeks charging the hard pack in search of ANY soft snow. Today was proof that it’s well worth the wait when you live & ride in Jackson Hole. Mark Byall had his choice of fresh lines.

1/06/12 – On their way into the Jackson Hole backcountry, Charlie Senn along with Sam Allan get the green light from the avalanche beacon checkpoint. Several of these checkpoints have been installed at various access points to the backcountry thanks to the combined efforts of Outerlocal, Backcountry Access and Outdoor Research.

Tram Jam stokes the weekend crowd at the base of the Bridger Gondola. Good tunes & sunshine filled the air at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

It was a great day to get out & cruise the groomers with your friends. The blue sky broke out while Ali Vitale & Jean Kim carve up the soft corduroy in Jackson Hole.
