Than Volk of Point of Release in Jackson Hole

Over the past two seasons, Than Volk has documented untracked lines both inbounds and throughout the Jackson Hole backcountry. Armed with a quiver of GoPro’s, he captures the moment and creatively edits the footage to bring us along for the ride. Hopefully in the future, you’ll see one of us shredding next to him. If you do, that implies he’s shared with us one of his coveted powder stashes, and judging from the footage, he’s got plenty to spare!

From Point of Release: A week ago the Village had 2 lifts and 7 trails open. It was a slow start to a season in which nearly every storm had brought rain to town and the lower elevations badly needed snow. Everything changed on Saturday as a storm rolled through and blanked the upper elevations with 21″ of 5% density snow, allowing the Tram, Thunder and Sublette to open for the first time all season.
