Every year in November, thousands of outdoor enthusiasts descend upon the little town of Banff nestled deep in the Canadian Rockies to relish in the world’s most captivating adventure and culture films. Luckily, Jackson residents will only have to travel to the High School Auditorium to view the award winning movies that took the podium this year in the 38th annual Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour.
Immediately following the Festival, the Banff World Tour travels across the globe to 40 countries reaching more than 390,000 people at over 840 screenings. Sponsored by Skinny Skis (who, by the way, have been spearheading the Jackson show for 21 years now), the two day event will feature content from over 80 film makers and athletes showcasing a world seen by few and envied by all. Blind kayaking, Norwegian surfing and naked skiing are just a few of the films that caught the audience’s attention this year, and will surely leave the Jackson community mesmerized.
Tickets are $12 ($20 for both nights), and can be purchased at Skinny Skis, Hungry Jacks and Valley Bookstore. Proceeds will benefit the Jackson High School Climbing Club.
