In the northern Rockies, we’re looking forward to the coming weekend as Grand Targhee Resort Jackson Hole Mountain Resort open for the 2012/13 winter season. The surrounding regions have a bit of head start in that respect, but all good things come to those who wait. As chairlifts around the country welcome skiers and riders to the season, sit back and enjoy the return of winter

 

Whistler: November 19th 2012 by Core Ski & Snowboard Camps

Description: We skipped opening day and went up Sunday. 22cms of fresh, NOBODY on the mountain and we got powder turns and faceshots all day! Best day of the season so far!

 

Sugar Bowl: November 17th, 2012 by Sugar Bowl Resort

Description: With over six feet of early season snow, Sugar Bowl resort fired up the lifts for its 73rd season of riding atop Donner Summit. Locals and visitors alike rejoiced, happy to welcome back winter and hit the hill for some high quality early season turns.

 

Northstar Ski Area – November 17th by Northstar

Description: Northstar is now open for the season, with the most open terrain in Tahoe – turning 5 lifts accessing 7 beginner and intermediate trails. Snowmaking continues as conditions permit, and with storms in the forecast over the coming weekend, we expect to open even more terrain by Thanksgiving!

 

Brighton Ski Area Opening Day: November 13th by Tom Haraden

Description: Its opening day at Brighton ski area and people are stoked. With powder turns to be had and a terrain park in place, riders are flipping their way into the new season.

 

Alta Ski Area Opening Weekend – November 16th by GOPRO Bomb Squad

Description: Winter is here! Come join us for a few laps at our home mountain, Alta Ski Resort :-) With 77″ of snow already this season, conditions are looking superb. Dust off that gear and come out and play!

 

Mammoth Mountain Opening Weekend – November 8th by Mammoth Lakes
