Film Synopsis

Uraguayan-born sommelier Charlie Arturaola arrives in Mendoza, Argentina, to take part in the glamorous “Masters of Food and Wine,” after having “traveled the world on a wine bottle.” Before his grand tasting and in front of a ballroom full of expectant tasters, something unusual happens: Charlie loses his palate. Desperation sets in. Wine expert Michael Rolland tells Charlie to “wash” his palate with the best wines of the region. Charlie begins a journey through the wine harvest’s progression, tasting the best wines and getting closer with the people of the villages who work the vines. But nothing works. Realizing the futility of the advice, his journey becomes a return, moving away from the glamorous world where he thinks he belongs, and evolving into a new journey towards his essence, his loved ones, his pains and real ghosts.
