Jackson Hole Mountain Festival and Coombs Classic
Here’s a great preview for the Jackson Mountain Festival coming this weekend to Teton Village. Along with live music, the Pole Pedal Paddle, and Gaper Fool’s Day celebrations, the Mountain Festival also includes a tribute to ski mountaineering legend Doug Coombs. The 3rd annual Coombs Classic celebrates the life of Doug, who pushed the boundaries of skiing and changed the sport forever. Anyone can participate, just check in at the tent between the tram and gondola in the morning and choose your line. The line options are either hiking Pepi’s Bench and skiing the Headwall, or riding the Casper Traverse and skiing the bottom of Casper Bowl. For each lap you make on your line, you earn a raffle ticket, up to five tickets. At the end of the day, follow the crowd behind Nick Wilson’s for the raffle and live music from Chan Man Roots Band. This years celebration coincides with Gaper Fool’s Day, so dress appropriately and join the crowd hanging out for the after party.
