The Spring Equinox in Jackson Hole

Following a week of snow, warming spring temperatures welcome the season and make for a great weekend to get out and explore. From Thursday through Sunday, nightlife kicks into overdrive with a variety of events offering something for everybody. We highlight notable happenings around Jackson Hole and hope to see you out and about. Rock & Roll! -KW

 

Thursday March 22

Slide Path Debut Performance

Slide/Path is a brand new collaboration between some of the region’s most well-known musical artists, who are combining forces to create a project which will merge electronic dance music and live musicians. The project is fronted by DJ Guerilla MD, who is acting as producer, DJ, keyboardist and vocalist for the project. The Mar. 22 show will also feature guitarist Jeff Eidemiller, who has toured with similar projects as far as South America and Asia, drummer John Wayne Harris, who has toured with Big Daddy Love and is currently drumming with Elk Attack, multi-instrumentalist John Kidwell of Chanman Roots Band and more, and the renowned percussionist Abbott Frank, Jr.

Nomadic Events presents an evening of Art, Music and Fashion. The lobby of the Pink Garter Theater will host some of the exciting artist in the region including Bryan Iguchi, Mike Parillo, Kelly Halpin and more. Music starts at 9:30pm followed by a fashion show at 10:30pm. There is no cover and the event is open to the public. 21+ with ID.

5 DJs Turn the Tables on Music History

Pink Garter hosts two showings of the music film everyone is talking about. Follow DJ Premier, Mark Ronson, Skrillex, Pretty Lights and The Crystal Method as they remix, recreate and re-imagine five traditional styles of music. From the classical perfection of the Berklee Symphony Orchestra to the bayou jams of New Orleans jazz, our five distinctive DJs collaborate with some of today’s biggest musicians to discover how our musical past is influencing the future.

Music Under the Tram with Mandatory Air

From Jackson Hole: Mandatory Air is an 8-piece, high energy band fueled by two extremely talented singers: the Miller Sisters. Influenced by rock, funk, soul and R&B, the band has a large and eclectic repertoire of cover songs as well as many of their own originals, and can tailor a show for almost any occasion. The band has been playing to sold out audiences since 2004 and boasts an impressive lineup of talented musicians. Out front are Candice and Karee Miller, who engage the audience throughout each performance with their electrified, inviting stage presence and soulful, resonant vocals.

Get out your Spacesuits, the 6th Annual Intergalactic Ball is coming up. This year we have a musical line up that is coming from far and wide. Headliner Barisone is coming from Portland, OR, Professor Stone from Fresno, CA, Bass Donkey from Amsterdam, NL, and Coop Da Loop as well as Large Humanz from Reno, NV.

This year they’re doing the silent auction again and will have 2 organizations benefiting, the Vertical Harvest project here in Jackson, and Music for Relief, a music driven nonprofit working on relief projects worldwide. There will also be a free photo booth until midnight.

Blitzen Trapper Performs Live at the Pink Garter Theater

Visiting Jackson for the first time, Blitzen Trapper is a Portland, Oregon-based experimental country/folk band signed to Sub Pop Records. Formed in 2000, the band currently operates as a quintet and is exploding on the national scene.
