Urban skiing has stepped into the spotlight recently with the overwhelming response to JP Auclair’s street skiing segmnet in “All.I.Can”. If you enjoy the creative expression required for urban and park riding, then the screening of “Weight” is for you.
STEPT productions, makers of the film, recently had Weight voted “Best Jib Film” at the Freeskiing International Film Festival. Entry to the film screening is FREE and open to all ages. Doors open at 7:30pm, kicking off the evening with a raffle as well as $2 PRRs and drink specials.
From Jackson Treehouse and the event organizers:
This Saturday, join us at Cutty’s for a premiere of Stept Productions’ “Weight,” showcasing some of the best urban skiing around. Stept worked with The North Face and K2 Skis to put together a film that captures the new movement in skiing. Skiers, including Teton Gravity Research athlete Nick Martini, explore the streets of Boston and Chicago in search of the biggest rails in the world, while running into some inspiring characters along the way. When the cities dry out, the weight is lifted, and the crew finds themselves skiing neck deep powder in places like Jackson Hole, and pushing the limits of jumping.
