What better way to ring in the new year than with powder, fireworks, great live music, and places to clink together champagne glasses with your family and friends. There will be plenty of all the above in Jackson, Teton Village and Grand Targhee to welcome in 2012. So enjoy yourself, be safe out there, and don’t stay up too late; you might be getting up early to get in line for first Tram in the morning.

Teton Village

Employees from Jackson Hole Mountain Resort treat you to a long-standing holiday tradition of skiing from the top of the Apres Vous lift to the Bridger Center base area by torchlight. Fireworks will light up the skies of Jackson Hole immediately following the parade.

New Year’s Eve party at the Mangy Moose Saloon with the all girl AC/DC cover band Hell’s Belle’s. This is always a sell out show so be sure to buy tickets in advance. Tickets are available at the Mangy Moose Market and Cellars and online.

Grand Targhee

Grand Targhee Resort is taking care of the celebration on the west side of the Tetons. A torchlight parade and fireworks and the base of the ski lifts will be followed by The Congress playing rock’n’roll til the wee hours of the morning in the Trap Bar. Grand Targhee os offering a FREE shuttle from the Driggs Community Center, so make sure you take advantage of a safe ride up and down Ski Hill Road.

The Q Roadhouse DJs

The Q Roadhouse and local DJ Cut La Whut are teaming up to host a New Years party that will feature electronic party music and visual effect to welcome the new year in raging style. Fine Dining Group has arranged for free shuttle from The Kitchen, Rendezvous Bistro, and Osteria that will run every 30 minutes starting at 9:15.

If you haven’t partied at The Q in a while, its large dance floor and encompassing bar offer a fun atmospheres to enjoy the DJ’s without waiting an hour for a drink. This DJ line up for the evening includes Discofari, 11OOLA, Mr. Whipple and Cut la Whut.

Phish: LIVE from Madison Square Garden

What’s Good Here Production in coordination with the Center for the Arts will be streaming a simulcast of the annual Phish show on New Years Eve at Madison Square Garden. The digital program will feature three live sets from the band, refreshments available for purchase and a casual setting to enjoy the concert. The evening begins at 5:30pm and rolls through the eastern standard time new years countdown at 10:00pm.

Snow King

If you want to catch a torchlight parade and fireworks without leaving Jackson, head over the base of Snow King Resort. After the show is over, check out the Snow King hotel for the “Whole Hotel’s a Party” featuring food, drinks and music from Screen Door Porch.

On the heels of recording their sophomore album in Austin just a few weeks ago, Screen Door Porch has partnered with Snow King Resort for the 4th Annual Lobby Party. The evening will feature an acoustic set ramped-up by a full band electric set to ring in the New Year. And to top it off, its only $5! The multi-level atrium lobby has been packed with over 500 concertgoers in the last couple of years. Hold on tight because the band will be playing a whole stash of new material.

Jackson Hole Late Night Transportation

Don’t forget to plan for a safe ride to and from your destination on New Years Eve. Everyone knows the consequences of drinking and driving and a new initiative from Jackson Hole residents aims to cut down on the accidents and arrests. Jackson Hole Late Night Transportation looks to fill a void of safe, cheap transportation after midnight in the valley. This initiative launches on New Years Eve and will be offering a shuttle between Teton Village, Wilson and Jackson for only $3.

Between the Start Bus, free event shuttles and Jackson Hole Late Night Transportation, there are no excuses for driving drunk this year on New Years Eve.
