the Mountain Pulse Jackson Hole Skiing Snowboarding

The River Awaits

The lure of the Snake River manifest through images of fly fishers wading knee deep in a trout strewn paradise. Not anymore. Drive across the Snake River bridge this week and you’ll witness the beginning of a violent cycle. Spring is a time for renewal and as rain accompanying the season intensifies, so will the transformation of the Snake.  More than 169% of the average annual snow pack looms above the valley.  As gravity pulls the melting water together, their forces intensify exponentially.  Old growth trees and sedan sized boulders are washed through the drainage as if they were matchsticks and pebbles.  At the Jackson Hole boat swap this past weekend, a large crowd of adventuring river enthusiast gathered to gear up, and could not have been more excited.
