“St. Patrick’s Day,.. more like St. Powder Day!” Just one example of the jubilant remarks over heard on the mountain. In bounds heli-skiing awaited early birds lucky enough to be near the front of the tram line. As if on cue, the clouds thinned just as the lifts began to spin. Rising towards the summit, adrenaline releases into the blood accelerating the heart into full stride. As the doors slide open and the crowd pours out, the fantasies of powder hounds ranging in all ages become fulfilled. Strapping into your gear on the summit of Jackson Hole is like no other feeling. The luck of the Irish was truly shining down upon us all. Days like this at are difficult to put into words. Inspired by the holiday, the following cocktail recipe summarizes March 17, 2011.
Drink Name: “The Powder Dream”
Origin: Deep in The Tetons
Ingredients:
- -1 part 17 inches of snow
- -1 part St. Patricks Day
- -1 part NCAA March Madness
- -1 part Women drinking in public
- -Dash of lift line magic
- -Optional garnish of face shots
