Hundred Days

03/09/11

The Mountain Pulse Jackson Hole

The aches and pains have hit their crescendo in days of late. From “huck neck” to “skier’s thumb”, the war wounds of an ambitious winter have blossomed throughout the ranks, young and old. Yet no matter how horrible the wake up— bones moaning and muscles ablaze—the Village beckons the masses like ants to a picnic. Many make the trip to the mountain everyday for the same reason a lot of parents love their kids: because they have to. With the season setting, it is the time to tape up those sore knees and swollen ankles, and go for broke. Mud season daydreams are scripted on these pre-spring pow days. So write up your hit list and get after it, because when it’s all said and done, there will be ample time for recuperation, and too much time for regret.
