Hundred Days

The Mountain Pulse Jackson Hole

Today was best spent on the upper mountain where colder temps maximized the potential of yesterday’s percipitation, accumilating bountiful powder rather than “frozen mashed potatoes” (as one Mountain Host put it.) Rendezvous Bowl improved throughout the day with each track being filled by the next lap. At lower elevations, however, today’s snow report deserved an astrix. From Crocky Point down, a hard layer of ice encased the reported three overnight inches. It was variable to say the least descending through Moran Woods, fighting to maintain your intended course through the ice. Time will tell what this maritime storm will do to our snowpack.
