Hundred Days

01/08/11

The Mountain Pulse Jackson Hole

Gondies were a rockin’ as gusting winds ravished upper elevations, polishing groomers and depositing snow in leeward crevices. For those nursing the repercussions of an ambitious Friday night (yours truly), Ranger to Sundance was an excellent line to exorcise the demons. Flat light, however, forced many speed-seekers to pull back on the throttle, as patches of ice pulled out the rug from beneath them, and foiled their perfect turns. By the closing bell, sporadic snow turned Tram windows into fuzzy T.V. screens, hopefully foreshadowing a deeper day tomorrow.
