Hundred Days

01/03/11

The Mountain Pulse Jackson Hole, Wyoming

As the sun rose in the blue Wyoming sky, shadows crept into the depths of the Tetons, revealing the range’s intricate granite. Glimmering in the sunlight, suspended ice crystals danced like the caddis of a summer hatch on the Snake River, and lent a sense of magic to Teton Village today.

Yesterday’s impromptu storm dressed Rendezvous Mountain in a light blanket of snow which groomers formed into perfect corduroy on main runs. Meanwhile, The Headwall, Casper Bowl, and The Crags remained untouched, affording rare blue bird powder turns for those willing to hike. Off the tram and out the gates, an abundance of wind-blown stashes from Rock Springs to Four Pines were ripe for the picking.
